Descriptions of it are incomplete 2019

 

The starting point for the photo collage "Descriptions of it are incomplete" was the solo exhibition of Barbara Kruger*. After three months, the space-filling installation, which consisted of large white wallpaper strips with black words and sentences, was removed again. The parts of the installation that were torn as a result of this, were photographed during dis-mantling. A digital photo collage was created on the computer from over 200 photos of the remains.

 

The room was about the size of:

15 m in lenght x 15 m in width x 8 m in height.

 

 

* Barbara Kruger (born January 26, 1945 in Newark, New Jersey) is an American conceptual artist known for her large-format posters and installations. The impact of her posters, and later her wall-to-ceiling installations, came at a time that was shaped by both the political awakening and the emerging conceptual art. Today the artist lives and works in New York and Los Angeles.
